The Cisco RV082 Dual-WAN Load Balancer and VPN Router is an advanced connection-sharing network solution for your small business needs. Like any router, it lets multiple computers in your office share a connection to a public or private network. However, with dual WAN ports, the Cisco RV082 Dual-WAN Load Balancer lets you use a second connection as a backup to help you stay connected, or it can be used to access a second provider to increase available bandwidth and balance traffic.
SPI firewall for maximum security
Two dedicated WAN ports for load-balanced connectivity to the Internet
8-port 10/100 switch supports automatic medium dependent interface (MDI), MDI crossover (MDI-X) and up to 200 Mbps of throughput per port
IP filtering allows for restricted access to the Internet and other network resources
Full IPsec VPN capability using Data Encryption Standard (DES) and Triple DES (3DES) encryption algorithms
Support for MD5 and SHA authentication algorithms
Allows up to 100 simultaneous IPsec VPN tunnels
Management via web, Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), and setup wizards for easy setup by administrators
Bandwidth management capabilities for improved quality of service (QoS)
Supports up to 50 QuickVPN users
Limited lifetime warranty
Built-in 8-Port Switch and VPN Tunnels The Cisco RV082 Dual-WAN Load Balancer also features a built-in 8-port full-duplex 10/100 Ethernet switch to connect eight PCs directly, or you can connect more hubs and switches to create as big a network as you need. The VPN capability creates encrypted "tunnels" through the Internet, allowing up to 100 remote offices or traveling users to securely connect into your office network from offsite. Users connecting through a VPN tunnel are attached to your company's network -- with secure access to files, email, and your intranet -- just as if they were in the building. You can also use the Cisco RV082 Routers VPN capability to allow users on your small office network to securely connect out to a corporate network.
IP address filtering and Robust Firewall The Cisco RV082 Dual-WAN Load Balancer can serve as a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server and has a powerful stateful packet inspection (SPI) firewall to protect your PCs against intruders and most known Internet attacks. It can be configured to filter internal users' access to the Internet and has IP address filtering so you can specify exactly who can connect to your network. Configuration is a snap with the web browser-based configuration utility. As the heart of your small office network, the connection-redundant Cisco RV082 Dual WAN VPN Router gives you the connection reliability your business needs.
