Upgraded from a trusty 2500K 2nd GEN i5. Which was just getting too old. Struggling with 4K video & any game released in the last 4 odd years.
It’s not until you have a few CPU driven tasks running that you truely notice how much more performance it has. Where running a macro in excel on a large file would take a few minutes & struggled to not stutter whatever song was playing. The 3700 process’s it in easily 1/4 of the time while happily playing a 4K movie & installing & updating MSFS in the background.
Pros:Well priced 8 Core, runs smoother than similarly $$ i5, esp. when running multiple Tasks
Cons:Intel will still generally provide a ‘few’ more FPS in most games. But that Will improve as games become more multi core efficient & with both new consoles running AMD chips, games might be more AMD optimised over Intel , Here’s hoping with a little time the Radeon series GPUs might be able to scare Nvidia
