Insanely good CPU.

Has barely even broken a sweat so far. Purchased this to futureproof my PC and have the best of what's currently on offer.

Stacked with the below for my new build and runs like a dream

Ryzen 5950X ASUS ROG STRIX X570-E WiFi II GeForce Aorus 3070ti G.Skill Trident Z Neo 64GB RAM bequiet! Dark Rock Pro 4

Pros:Insane Performance

Had this running in a new system I built for a few weeks now. It barely breaks a sweat. I chucked a Noctua NH_d15 and dropped a Noctua 120mm NF-F12 industrialPPC on the front of that and the cpu rarely gets over 60 degrees, and that's with it doing some fairly complex optimisation algorithms running 200,000+ iterations.

And when it does start to run a little hotter the nf-f12 jet engine roars into action (its noisy at full speed) and cools it down quickly.

Pros:You get what you pay for i guess....
Cons:none that I have experienced

I've just bought this to replace a dead x399 motherboard with a 1950x Threadripper and I can honestly say it's fantastic. It is true though that it does run hotter. I'm guessing that has to do with the smaller surface area with which 16 cores/32 threads are packed in comparison to the huge Threadripper chip that was relatively easy to cool.

I'm using a Dark Rock Pro 250TDP cooler on mine and I operate between 40-60 degrees with a room temperature of 22. Under load it can get to 80 degrees. I'd recommend some high CMF/RPM 120mm fans if you're going to be using the Dark Rock Pro 250TDP. I'm going to be installing 2x Vardar 3000rpm fans instead and optimising my air flow a bit better in my case to lower the temps as much as possible.

In terms of raw power though, my god this CPU is incredible.

Pros:Better than the 1950x Threadripper
Cons:Hotter than the 1950x Threadripper by 10-20 degrees

Bought this in Nov of 2020. In Dec of 2020 I started having issues with crashing and audio breaking up and even going quite. I though it may have been the motherboard since the issue seemed to be audio related. I replace the PSU, MB, RAM, GFX card to no avail. Then I thought "would it run ok with some cores disabled". Turns out core 7 or 8 in CCD0 was defective. This CPU should have been a 5900X !!

Pros:16 cores on the desktop.
Cons:Expensive, Possible poor QA by AMD
