I usually never buy the cheaper models of GPUs. I did some research and decided to get this Galax 4070 ti GPU based on a YouTube review I saw. I am very glad I did not spend more and get a more expensive model. Be aware like many 4000 series cards it is a huge GPU which is great for cooling performance but not so great for those with smaller cases.
Stock it runs very cool and quiet and the performance is better than my previous 3080 ti that I did not like due to it running very hot and noisy even after under volting.
Running an undervolt of 2580 mhz @ 900mV I am getting basically the same FPS as stock, while using almost 100 watts less power. 257W stock Vs 160W in the Heaven benchmark. So far this undervolt has been perfectly stable in every game and benchmark I have tried. Undervolting on these 4000 series GPUs gets way better results than simply reducing the power slider.
A roughly 100 W power saving on a card with this much performance is just crazy. With this undervolt it also runs around 10 C cooler and also much quieter than it already was. The GPU fans now never go past 30% and are barely noticeable over my already quiet case fans. Very happy.
Also for those interested, it just fits in a Fractal torrent compact RGB case without removing the excellent stock 180mm front fans.
In summary I can highly recommend this Galax 4070 ti to someone who wants excellent 1440p gaming for a decent price. It can do 4k very well depending on the title but I would not buy it for exclusive 4k use. Get a 4080 if you want 4k in all games. Yes the prices are high but that is on Nvidia. Stock it is very quiet and cool, but with the undervolt I am using it is simply amazing. 100 watt less power while temps staying in the mid 50s to low 60s while gaming and the card being super quiet is fantastic. Also I have not noticed any coil whine at all so far. If you need a new GPU give this one a serious look if you can get it for a decent price.
