Do not buy this device to back up data. It is painfully slow when copying large amounts of data to it. When connectde to a synology nas, it took 12 hours to copy 180GB of data.

Can pay up to $350 for a 8TB HDD

This is $50 cheaper and you get the same specs..

You also get two USB 3.0 ports in the external case.

Same warranty. Great value !!

Pros:Pro. up $50 Cheaper than bare hdd
