Seems to work from Outset but will wait to see how long it lasts
Bought for a NAS. Does the job, no complaints. Small, not too noisy.
i have never had any problems with Seagate i now own also have had other Seagate products
love these drives, flawless. 4 words too short for a review? bite me, i'll write what i want in how ever many words i want thanks.
Fantastic drive, needed the space for the desktop PC. Using it as a backup files and game install drive as I wanted to the keep the c drive as a primary work related drive. Will pickup another one soon.
Simple drives from a supplier that I have used in the past with no issues. Simply plugged into my NAS and started using straight away with no dramas.
Very fast! I am under the impression that, if you use the Seagate "SeaChest_lite" tool and change the sector size from 512 to 4096 byte the HDD is somewhat faster, but there is a risk involved in doing that... I did it an got read speeds of 270 MB/sec easily! The HDD is a work horse, so don't expect it to be quiet, but it is not noisy either. Good for any NAS (check the airflow though)!
I have not experienced the noise increase other reviews have mentioned. Could be the environment they are in. They are mounted in a Synology NAS under my desk. Upgrade was simple, error free and the drives seen compatible with the RAID 6 setup. Replaced WDD 3TB drives and so far so good. The WDD had already been replaced under warranty and were producing read write errors. Happy to try the Seagate.
Great value for money, and genuinely well suited for NAS. Nite that there's no accoustic management on these drives, and they are intended to keep spinning, so don't buy this for a desktop or HTPC.
