We bought this for the numerous flying pests in the back yard. I have found moths, flies, mosquitos, and more in the catch area of this unit. My roommate's biggest concern was that it did not buzz while it was plugged in and not actively zapping. This unit does not buzz or make any audible noise while it is not zapping. We decided to use it inside the house one evening while we had a couple of flies in the house and it worked great for them too! I will say that when a big moth gets stuck in it, the zapping noise can continue for upwards of 20 seconds or more. I would use it inside if you keep it somewhat far away from your living room, or outside about 20 feet from where you are sitting. The noise doesn't really bother us during the times it is zapping, so we keep it a bit closer.
